Easiest Smokey Eye Ever: $4 ELF Eyeliner and Shadow Stick

After a long day at work yesterday, I needed some retail therapy. As usual, I spent about half an hour browsing the beauty aisle at CVS in hopes of finding a great new product. I was not looking for anything in particular.

In my search, I stumbled across the ELF Eyeliner and Shadow in Smokey. The stick eyeshadow reminds me of the $29 Laura Mercier shadow stick in Tuxedo. The gel eyeliner is surprisingly good for a $4 double use product- it applies similar to the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon for $25. What is amazing about this product is you do not need any brushes to create the smokey eye- I just smudged it out with my fingers.

The only disadvantage to this product is that it only offers one color. If you want more dimension or more colors, you will need to use a palette. Pro tip: be careful with the black eyeliner- sometimes I find it looks too heavy and/or severe. You do. not want to over do it.

If you want an inexpensive, no fuss, quick smokey eye, this is your product. I am going to buy the Brown/Taupe color online soon for a day look and will update this post once I have tried it out!
